Rough translations for Master Chef Korea Celebrity Episode 1
1st mission: Mystery Box. There wasn’t anything in the box because the judges want the contestants to prepare a dish they are best at.
1. During the individual interview, when asked which contestant are you surprised to see here. Shin Bong Sun replied Henry, because he is young, a guy and on top of it an idol. Therefore, she feels that Henry doesn’t cook often.
2. The contestants were asked in their interviews about the scary judges. Henry said “There was a Grandma, an Ahjussi(Uncle) and an Ahjumma (Aunt). They looked very professional and scary.”
3. During the fire show, Henry said in the interview that he wanted just to display the fire. So he simply kept pouring Chinese alcohol into the empty wok. The judges said he could go put on a show rather than cooking. He ended up being pointed out by Judge Kim So Hee that the ingredients should be added if you want to use the fire. So he did it again this time with ingredients in the wok. The judges said that he looks like he had done it several times and asked where did he learn cooking. Henry reply that he learnt it during the filming of the movie and had done it often when he was a kid.
4. At the end of the 1 hour for the first round, the judges picked 4 people whose dishes they were curious of how they tasted. Henry was picked as one of the 4. His dish “Leek and mixed vegetables with buns”was made stir-frying pork and leek. While the judges eat, he said he learnt how to cook when filming movie so he made this dish. Judge Kim So Hee picked up a strand of hair and was unhappy about it. Henry said in his interview the his hair is yellow now but the hair strand was black so it was 100% not his hair. He thinks that it was Judge Kim So Hee’s hair and calls her Eyebrow Ahjumma.
5. Miss A’s Fei won the 1st mission. The 2nd mission was to compete and choose who will be disqualified, the main ingredient was noodles. Fei had the power to do decide who uses which type of noodles. Henry got Buckwheat noodles.
